Suitable from 6+ months with BLW and a Family Favourite
This is a surprisingly simple recipe which is perfect for introducing your little one to some gentle spices such as cumin and paprika. You can start giving baby spices from 6+ months.
You can substitute the chicken thighs for breast in this recipe but I just love hoe juicy the thighs are - they are also more forgiving if overcooked and pretty difficult to dry out.
Serve this recipe with a refreshing side salad and warm pitas or rice, delicious!
Serves 4
Chicken Shawarma
Ingredients
500g chicken thighs
1tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried coriander leaf
1 tsp paprika
2 tbs Greek yoghurt
Method
Preheat oven to 200c
Put all of the ingredients into a large bowl and mix well. Allow the chicken to marinade in the fridge for a few hours or at least 30 minutes
Layer the chicken into a rectangular casserole dish and bake in the oven for 45 minutes
Slice and dice the chicken and serve with warm pitas and a salad of your choice
