Did you know that babies can be introduced to spices from 6+ months? This recipe is perfect for introducing your child to new and exciting flavours, and will soon become a firm family favourite.
With Baby Led Weaning (BLW) baby can have this from 6+ month after their first tastes, just make sure the chicken is cute into large pieces and ideally in strips so they are easier to pick up.
If you are doing Traditional Weaning (TW) then simply blend a portion into a purée for baby (or the whole lot if you're batch cooking).

Baby's First Chicken Curry
Ingredients
My Curry Spice Mix
1/4 tsp turmeric
1 tsp Garam masala
1 tsp ground cumin
3 cloves of garlic chopped
1/2 tsp chopped ginger
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp vegetable oil
250g baby plum or cherry tomatoes chopped in half
1 white onion diced
1 bag of spinach
2 chicken breasts
Method
Heat a large lidded pan over a low-medium heat and add the vegetable oil
Add the onions, garlic, ginger & cumin seeds and mix well, allow to gently fry for 10 minutes on the low heat stirring frequently until the onions have become translucent
Add the spice mix to the onions and give everything a good stir, allow to fry for a minute so the aromas are released - stirring continuously so the spices don’t catch at the bottom
Combine the tomatoes into the mixture and stir well, before placing the lid on top and allow to cook for 10 minutes on the low heat (stir after 5 minutes)
Remove the lid and add the chicken, coating it in the sauce which should be starting to become quite paste like
Pop the lid back on and allow to cook on a medium heat for around another 10 minutes until cooked through (stir after 5 minutes)
Remove the lid and add the spinach and allow a few minutes for it to wilt and give everything a good mix
Serve with basmati rice
